Edugaming - Core Program Components & Deliverables

School Readiness Workshop

Initial three day workshop that includes game design curriculum, digital game-based learning and technology integration readiness.

Technology Implementation

Implementation of both gaming technologies and Turning Technologies student response systems for progress monitoring. One onsite technical assistance and setup day is included.

Hardware/Software Inventory

In coordination with your IT department, the Turning Technologies Program Team will inventory and assess the school's current hardware/software for implementation recommendations.

Digital Game Selection Profile

With over 200 digital games available, the Turning Technologies Program Team will create a gaming profile to match your school's unique needs. The recommended digital games list is based on the grade level, subject and available hardware within the school. This is a highly customized component of the Turn Up Engagement program.

Game Design Curriculum

The comprehensive ISTE-aligned game design curriculum for Elementary, Middle and High School students embeds the requirements of computer science curriculum into game design courses. This creates a highly engaging environment for students as they learn to appreciate gaming as producers rather than consumers. Included in the program are the necessary tools for game design courses.

Game-Based Learning

The program provides each school with up to 50 digital-based games for classroom teachers to teach math, reading, social studies, science and electives. The digital game-based learning component is designed to balance the subject matter with game play and is grounded in the belief that students learn more when they are actively engaged. The goal is to utilize digital games to accelerate learning and increase the ability of the student to retain and apply said subject matter to the real world.

Effective Monitoring

Utilize Turning Technologies student response systems to progress monitor student learning and achievement before, during and after the use of selected digital-based games.

Professional Development

Professional development specific to each core component including: game design curriculum, digital game-based learning and progress monitoring through the use of Turning Technologies student response systems. Program handbook and Edugaming research books included.
