The Innovative Instructor

October 2, 2017

Excitement is building as final preparations get underway for the Turning Technologies Learning Forum. It takes place on Wednesday, October 18th on the campus of Northeast Ohio Medical University, commonly referred to as NEOMED, in Rootstown, Ohio. Instructors will have the opportunity to collaborate and explore new ideas on educational topics including innovative teaching, active learning and how technology such as interactive polling software and audience response systems can support these endeavors.
Turning Technologies Learning Forum
Drs. Conor MCLennan and David Perry, proud professors who call Northeast Ohio home, will speak from experience and provide tips to enhance the teaching and learning environment. Dr. MCLennan is an associate professor of Psychology and director of the Language Research Laboratory at Cleveland State University. He’ll discuss ways to apply research findings from cognitive psychology to teaching and learning and best practices to encourage active participation through the use of audience response. Representing the University of Akron, Dr. Perry is a Professor of Chemistry and has come to know and rely on interactive audience polling to enhance student achievement in his undergraduate classes. In particular, he’ll elaborate how interactive response systems support a flipped classroom by enabling daily testing and active learning.
This is an event you will not want to miss! Network with instructors from all over the region and discover unique ways to boost your academics and teaching practices.
